Green Waste
Council has moved to a ‘user pays’ model for green waste, rather than passing the cost on to all ratepayers as part of general rates. From 1 July 2024, residents of the region will be able to dispose of up to 100kg of green waste free of charge. This is equivalent to one standard sized wheelie bin filled with green waste.
When visiting one of our waste management facilities, please place green waste in the designated areas. These areas are well marked and easy to find.
Green waste should be free of any general waste, chemicals, timber products, wire pot plants, gyprock or fibre cement sheeting.
