Gympie Regional Council is undergoing a major project that will transform the way the region disposes of its waste as part of a strategy to boost long-term sustainability and enhance resource recovery.
This once in a generation revival is comprised of several projects to be delivered over the next 5 years.
The first milestone reached as part of the ‘Future of Waste’ was the completion of a community survey in March 2023 which explored how our community disposes of its waste and how it wishes for its future waste and recycling services to be delivered. This feedback will be used to inform a comprehensive waste strategy and support the delivery of several projects as detailed below.
