Disasters and Emergencies

In collaboration with our emergency services, Gympie Regional Council plays an important role in coordinating and managing disasters within the boundaries of the Gympie region. The following resources are provided to assist you – before, during and after - disasters, emergencies and major weather events.

Disaster Dashboard and Opt-In Alerts

Council’s Disaster Dashboard provides up-to-date information and warnings relating to bushfires, weather events, road closures, flood mapping and power outages. On the Dashboard you can sign up for council’s free ‘Opt-In Alerts’ service to receive text (SMS) and/or email notifications that will be sent during disaster events. Click on the ‘Opt-In Alerts’ button and follow the prompts to subscribe.

Types of Disasters
