Feasibility Study

A feasibility study is currently underway which explores the costs associated with building a new waste management facility and decommissioning Bonnick Road once the landfill cells have reached end of life.

The future of Bonnick Road

Once the current landfill cells at Bonnick Road reach capacity, the site will cease operating as a landfill for the disposal of waste. However, Bonnick Road will continue to operate as a waste transfer and resource recovery facility, with waste transported off-site for disposal or further processing.

The closed landfill areas will be progressively decommissioned and rehabilitated in accordance with environmental requirements, with restrictions applying to certain future uses of the land.
