Gympie Water Resilience and Augmentation Program (GWRAP)

Council is delivering a long-term program of water infrastructure investment to help secure safe and reliable drinking water for the Gympie Region, underpinned by the Water Security Strategy 2024-2050.

Gympie Regional Council currently supplies drinking water to nearly 15,000 residential and commercial properties across eight separate water supply schemes. A number of the critical assets supporting these schemes are nearing the end of their operational life, increasing the risk of service disruption and reducing resilience. GWRAP brings together the key infrastructure investments needed to improve the region’s water supply system over time. The program is mainly focused on the Gympie and Mary Valley schemes, where the most immediate risks and future needs have been identified.
