Audit and Risk Management Committee
Council’s Audit and Risk Committee provides supervision and advice to Council and the Chief Executive Officer about:
- Internal audit plan and progress reports
- External audit plan and progress reports
- Governance matters, including risk management
- Legislative and policy compliance.

Who do council’s five person Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) consist of?
Two elected representatives (councillors) and three independent members.

One of the independent members.
Who appoints the committee members and Chairperson?
Council appoints the committee members and Chairperson.
Can a suitably qualified member of the public fill the position of independent member on the ARC?
The public are invited to respond to the calling of Expressions of Interest to fill the position if it is vacant.

How many times does ARC meet a year?
They meet four times per year in accordance with the Charter.
Who else attends these meetings?
Representatives from the Queensland Audit Office, council’s external auditors and internal auditor, and nominated employees may attend meetings.
