Commercial use of Local Government Controlled Areas and Roads

If you would like to operate your business on land, roads or waterways controlled by Gympie Regional Council, you will need approval.

To apply, complete the following form below and send or drop it into a council customer service centre.

If approved, you must not conduct the activity on a road or local government-controlled area within 500 metres of the following:

  • existing retail shop
  • shopping centre
  • roadside vending stall selling the same or similar goods as you
  • a school, between the hours of 7.00am and 5.00pm on school days
  • a recreational facility, at a time when they are selling the same or similar goods as you. e.g sporting ground, public swimming pool
  • a public place where a fete or market is operating if you do not have permission from the operator.
