Identifying house numbers should be clearly displayed at or near the primary access point to facilitate mail deliveries, emergency services etc. Contact us or visit us to obtain your free house numbering plaque/s at our Planning and Development department located at 29 Channon Street, Gympie.
Unfortunately, we are unable to post the house numbering plaque/s to you, they will need to be collected in person. You may also obtain your own if you prefer. Council allocates house numbers in accordance with the Australian Standard (AS/NZS 4819:2011).
In rural and rural residential areas the house number is based on a distance from a datum point / intersection to the access point of the property. The definition of an ‘access point’ is a vehicular access to a rural/rural residential property approved and constructed in accordance with Council’s standard drawings.
You may need a new or additional address if you are building a new home, a second dwelling on a property, or a new access point.
To request an address or clarification/confirmation on your house number, or to arrange collection of house number plates, please contact our Customer Service Centre on 1300 307 800.
