Temporary Local Planning Instrument

Adoption of Temporary Local Planning Instrument – Protection of Biodiversity Values

Gympie Regional Council, at its meeting of 13 December 2023, adopted Temporary Local Planning Instrument – Protection of Biodiversity Values (TLPI 1/24) with a commencement  date of 23 February 2024. The TLPI will have effect up to and inclusive of 23 February 2026 (unless repealed at an earlier date). This TLPI replaces the Biodiversity TLPI adopted by Council in April 2022.

The purpose of the new TLPI is to facilitate the protection of environmental values across the entirety of the Gympie region until the provisions of the TLPI have been appropriately integrated into a new planning scheme for the Gympie Region.  The new TLPI contains the same provisions as the TLPI adopted by Council in 2022.

The TLPI and associated documents are available for inspection and purchase at Council’s Planning and Development Directorate located at 29 Channon Street, Gympie during normal office hours, or by clicking on the links below.
