The River to Rail Trail in the centre of Gympie is great for walking and cycling. The trail is 7.8km long with many entry and exit points along the way.
On the trail you can visit:
- Albert Park
- The Sands Park
- Victoria Bridge Conservation area
- Deep Creek Fossicking Area
- One Mile sports complex
- Aquatic Recreational Centre (ARC)
- The Mary Valley Rattler Station
- Gympie Town Centre
- Nelson Reserve Youth Precinct
A large part of the trail follows the Mary River where you can picnic, fish, swim, canoe and kayak.
Keep an eye out for the following wildlife that can be found in the river:
- Mary River Turtle
- Mary River Cod
- Australian Lungfish
You can take your dog for a walk along the trail, but make sure it is on a leash at all times.
There are signs along the trail tell you how far the next point of interest is, and if there are any stairs.
