Harmony Week - Celebrating Cultural Diversity

Back

To celebrate Harmony Week (20-26 March 2023) there will be a free, family-friendly event held at Gympie’s Nelson Reserve on Sunday, 26 March 2023 from 3pm-7pm.

Featuring a range of local and cultural performances and cuisines, the Harmony Week celebration will honour cultural diversity. Councillor Dan Stewart described the event as a wonderful opportunity for locals to celebrate the many different cultures and people who make up our community.

“This will be great evening of music, performance and food. We have a strong and thriving community and Harmony Week offers an opportunity for us to celebrate – everyone is welcome,” Councillor Stewart said.

Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging. It has grown to become a significant time for bringing together people from all different backgrounds to share, learn and appreciate diversity. The event will feature performers including the African Drum Sanctus, Gubbi Gubbi Dance Troupe, Cuban Dance Company, Pitch-In Choir and high-energy world-music group, SOLUA.
