Victory Heights Trail Network

A local trail network for passive recreation (bushwalking, trail running and mountain biking) has been developed by local not-for-profit community group Cooloola Trail Care Alliance (CTCA). The facility is located within 3km of Gympie's town centre between the historic Victory Hotel and Gympie North Railway Station and is accessed from Bath Terrace where there is off-street parking, public toilets and visitor information.

The extensive trail network weaves through 60ha of mature eucalypt forest providing unique and accessible nature-based recreation options for locals and visitors. There is approximately 25km of signposted mountain biking (MTB) trails, suitable for all grades of riders. A 2km kids track, skills area and shaded seating is located close to the entrance for the convenience of parents with little ones needing to burn off energy under supervision.  Further afield the MTB trails cater for those seeking adventure, fitness and fun with a large variety of technical features incorporated into the trails (jumps, drops, log rides, sculptured berms, flow sections, rollers, doubles, tables, rock gardens and pump track).

Bushwalkers and trail runners are well-catered for with three clearly signposted scenic loops of varying distances (2, 3 and 5km) in addition to many shared use trails to explore, 17km in total.

A popular weekly fitness challenge is provided by Victory Heights Trail Parkrun which sees an average of 100 runners and walkers take on the signposted 5km circuit every Saturday at 7am.  Participation in parkrun is free. Cooloola Trail Care Alliance, as the developer and manager of the trail network, encourages and promotes public use of the trails and facilities in accordance with the Usage Management Policy.
