Funding Boost for Local Community Groups
Gympie Regional Council has endorsed funding for over twenty local community groups to support their initiatives within the region.
In the second round of competitive grants for this financial year, 25 community groups have been awarded funding, with a total of $156,152 distributed across several categories, including community development, community facilities, environmental programs, creative projects and community events.
Mayor Glen Hartwig said the community grants program provided a great opportunity for local organisations to access important assistance.
“Council’s grants program helps local groups across our region keep delivering their great initiatives that are integral part of our region’s community fabric,” Cr Hartwig said.
“It’s important to support the fantastic work happening in our community, and financial assistance through these grants will help strengthen and grow the capacity of these groups.
“We look forward to seeing their projects unfold and congratulate all grant recipients.”
