Council throws its support behind two sports events coming to Rainbow Beach

Back

Rainbow Beach has always been an ideal destination for hosting events due to its unique blend of natural beauty and versatile amenities.

Over the next month, Gympie Regional Council is proudly supporting two unique sporting events that are being held at Rainbow Beach.

Rainbow Adventure X Festival – Friday 19, to Sunday 21 April

This three-day adrenaline-fueled extravaganza will showcase some of Australia’s best skydivers and paragliders who will compete in the Gold Rush World Cup and The Ridge Race respectively.

Those in attendance can experience the thrill firsthand with tandem paragliding sessions available, providing the perfect opportunity for you to see our beautiful coastline from a unique perspective.

Tandem paragliding experiences cost $149 per person, a minimum of 2 people per booking.

South Queensland Zone Championships for Outrigging – Friday 10, to Sunday 12 May

Noosa Outrigger Canoe Club Inc. is set to host their SQ Zone Championships event at Rainbow Beach for the second consecutive year.

The event will showcase some of Australia’s best outrigger canoers who will compete in a combination of short and long-course races between Rainbow Beach and Double Island Point.

Combined, these two events drew more than 1,000 visitors to our region last year.

Having events like this in our region means more money is spent at our cafes, retail stores, and accommodation providers.

The flow-on effect means more people are talking about our beautiful part of the world and hopefully investing in our region.
