New Creative Recovery Mentoring Program in the Gympie Region

Back

Gympie Regional Council is excited to launch a new Creative Recovery Mentoring Program. This new initiative offers an opportunity for selected participants to receive up to $8000 in funding, further develop their skills, and receive mentoring to assist in implementing creative recovery projects in the Gympie region.

The Creative Recovery Mentoring Program is launching at an upcoming Arts and Cultural Forum, which is a free networking event. Attendance is a prerequisite for applicants interested in participating in this wonderful new program.

Up to four local creatives will receive $1500 in funding and the opportunity to participate in training and mentorship to develop a creative recovery project. Up to two projects will then be selected for implementation, with artists paid an artist fee of $8000.

Gympie Regional Council understands the important role of arts and culture in communities responding to and recovering from challenges and disasters. In October 2023, the Arts and Cultural Strategy was endorsed by Council to identify priorities to develop and celebrate arts and culture in the Gympie region.
