Gympie Regional Council is excited to announce its upcoming Emergency Services Expo and Family Fun Day at Nelson Reserve, Gympie on Saturday 14 October from 10am – 2pm.

Bring the family for a fun day out to meet Emergency Service first-responders and explore emergency vehicles up close, experience Emergency Service demonstrations and displays, kids’ activities, entertainment, a free community BBQ and more!

Gympie Regional Council Mayor Glen Hartwig said the event would be a great day out for the whole family, as well as the local community.

“If we all do a little to prepare for the bushfire and storm season, we can accomplish a lot as a community. Come down and enjoy this free action-packed day for the family. There will be demonstrations, kids’ activities, entertainment, a BBQ, and lots of fun,” Mayor Hartwig said.

“If you’ve been wondering what you can do to get ready for the summer weather season, don’t miss this exciting community event".

The Emergency Services Expo and Family Fun Day coincides with Queensland’s Get Ready Week (9-15 October) and will offer education and entertainment, as well as provide tips and tools to prepare the community on how to stay safe before, during and after severe weather events.

Highlights:

•    Emergency Services displays and demonstrations
•    Kids activities
•    Entertainment
•    Free community BBQ
•    Safety tips
