Registrations now open for free community disaster planning workshop
Gympie Regional Council is inviting members of local community groups, clubs and organisations to attend a free workshop to prepare and plan for disaster events. Two sessions will be held on Wednesday, 30 November 2022 at The Pavilion, Exhibition Road, Southside from 2.00pm to 4.00pm and 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
These workshops will discuss key aspects of disaster planning, explore tools and strategies to identify major risks, and develop systems for storing records and reviewing emergency plans.
Planning and preparing within the community can reduce the impacts and damage from disaster events. Council has developed these workshops to provide assistance and support to the local community and help build resilience. The time to prepare is well before a major event occurs.
Registration is essential. Please call 1300 307 800 or email council’s Community Development Team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
