Volunteering organisations invited to attend a free Management workshop

Volunteering Queensland, in partnership with Gympie Regional Council, is inviting volunteer organisations to attend a free ‘Best Practice Volunteer Management’ workshop on Friday, 19 August from 10am to 3pm, at the Pavilion Conference and Reception Centre at 79 Exhibition Road, Gympie.

The free workshop will provide advice on how to re-energise volunteer programs and management processes, learn about the best practices in managing and leading volunteers and learn more about intergenerational volunteering and how this can affect the Gympie region.

As part of the workshop, staff from Volunteering Queensland will discuss the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement, which will provide participants the opportunity to review their organisation’s program and engagement with volunteers.

Councillor Dan Stewart says the Gympie region is fortunate to have so many organisations that work closely together with volunteers who could benefit from attending this workshop.

“By attending this workshop, local volunteer organisations will have the opportunity to ask the presenters a variety of questions, including how to recruit and keep volunteers, identify the current trends within the industry, discuss the issues currently facing their organisation, and network with other local volunteer organisations to share their success stories.

I would like to thank Volunteering Queensland for partnering with Council to put on this workshop and I encourage office bearers, coordinators and managers of local volunteer organisations to attend,” he said.

A copy of the Volunteer National Standards guide and workbook will be provided at the workshop, with lunch also included.
