Adoption of Temporary Local Planning Instrument – Protection of Biodiversity Values

In accordance with the Planning Act 2016, Gympie Regional Council, at it’s meeting of 27 April 2022, has adopted Temporary Local Planning Instrument – Protection of Biodiversity Values (the TLPI) with an earlier commencement and effective date of 23 February 2022, as approved by the Minister for State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning. The TLPI will have effect up to and inclusive of 23 February 2024 (unless repealed at an earlier date).

The purpose and general effect of the TLPI is to facilitate the protection of environmental values across the entirety of the Gympie region until the provisions of the adopted TLPI have been appropriately integrated into a new planning scheme for the Gympie region.

The TLPI is available for inspection and purchase at council’s Planning and Development Directorate located at 29 Channon Street, Gympie during normal office hours, and is also available on council’s website https://www.gympie.qld.gov.au
