Gympie Regional Council is inviting not-for-profit community organisations and eligible individuals and businesses to participate in upcoming grants information sessions.

The free events will be held on Wednesday 2 February, from 5.30pm to 7pm and Thursday 3 February, from 10am to 11.30am at The Pavilion, 77 Exhibition Road Southside.

A free online session will also be held on Thursday 3 February, from 2pm to 3pm.

Council’s Community Grants Programs provide financial assistance for projects, which enhance the social, environmental and cultural wellbeing of the Gympie region.

The information sessions will allow eligible community groups and individuals to discuss their project with grant officers, learn how to manage their grant after approval, and network with other community organisations.

Councillor Dan Stewart was pleased that the previous round of grants funded 37 projects that helped community organisations purchase essential equipment, host community events and foster a more inclusive and welcoming environment for the community.

He encourages community groups to attend the grants information sessions.
“Attending a workshop and discussing your project with council staff will ensure you have the best chance of submitting a better quality application,” he said.
