Council coordinates a variety of programs and initiatives for the Gympie region community.
QUT Inclusive Communities Project
Queensland University of Technology's (QUT) with the support of regional local governments (including Clarence City Council in Tasmania and Gympie Regional Council ), is finding out how we can better plan communities to be more inclusive for all people across all ages.
Queensland Seniors Week (from 15 - 23 August, 2020) celebrates the valuable contribution of older people in our community.
National Volunteer Week
National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers.
In 2020, National Volunteer Week will be celebrated from 18 May to 24 May 2020.
Movies in the Park
During spring and summer, Council holds a number of free, family-friendly ‘Movies in the Park’ events.
Each school holiday, Council organises a range of fun, exciting and budget friendly activities for kids.
Sessions are held at local libraries, the Gympie Regional Gallery and across the region.

Community Lending Library
The community lending library is available for community organisations to access sports and event equipment, games and learning resources for a period of up to four weeks at a time at no cost
