Council coordinates a variety of programs and initiatives for the Gympie region community.
National Volunteer Week
National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers.
In 2020, National Volunteer Week will be celebrated from 18 May to 24 May 2020.
Movies in the Park
During spring and summer, Council holds a number of free, family-friendly ‘Movies in the Park’ events.
Each school holiday, Council organises a range of fun, exciting and budget friendly activities for kids.
Sessions are held at local libraries, the Gympie Regional Gallery and across the region.

Join Heart Foundation Walking and take positive steps to help reduce stress, have a healthier body, build stronger relationships, and most of all, be happy!
Community Lending Library
The community lending library is available for community organisations to access sports and event equipment, games and learning resources for a period of up to four weeks at a time at no cost
Discover Youth and Careers Symposium
The Discover Youth and Careers Symposium aims to inspire our region's young people to reach their potential and discover what can be achieved, both here and anywhere.
Building Better Communities
Council has partnered with Sunshine Coast Health Network and the Brisbane Broncos to deliver the Building Better Communities Program in schools across the region.
The program involves collaboration with local police, services and topic experts to give young people the right messages at the right time.
Queensland Seniors Week (from 18 to 26 August, 2018) celebrates the valuable contribution of older people in our community.
