Gympie Aerodrome is located approximately 12 km south of Gympie Town Centre and approximately 75 km north of Maroochydore.
The aerodrome is owned and managed by Gympie Regional Council and serves the local area.
Whilst predominantly used for recreational purposes, there are a number of flight training and aircraft maintenance businesses based at the aerodrome, together with the Gympie Aero Club and Gympie Gliding Club.

Applications may be made for periods of up to 12 months. Please submit your application a minimum of three days before your intended visit.
Once your application has been approved, you do not need to seek further permission within the application period.
Fees and Charges
Other than rental for hangar sites, there are currently no fees or charges for the Gympie Aerodrome. Council will be introducing fees and charges in the 2018-19 financial year.
Gympie Aerodrome Master Plan
Council engaged Rehbein Airport Consulting to prepare a Master Plan and Feasibility Study in consultation with key stakeholders. The document sets out Council's vision for the Aerodrome over the next 10 years.
The document is currently in final draft form following stakeholder consultation in August 2017.
Flying Clubs and Commercial Operators
Gympie Aerodrome is home to a number of commercial businesses associated with the aviation industry, flying schools, Gympie Aero Club and Gympie Gliding Club.
