Any maintenance or other work on graves requires prior approval from Cemetery Trust. The Gympie Cemetery Trust also offers a grave maintenance service (charges apply).

History

An area of 60 acres was granted, and the Gympie Cemetery was finally opened in late 1886. Henry PETERS, a child, was the first person buried in the new cemetery, on November 5, 1886. (Source: Gympie Cemetery Trust).  Some historical headstones (no burials) from the Tozer Street (Pioneer Cemetery) & King Street Cemeteries are also located in a special area at the Gympie Cemetery.
