Gympie Regional Council is pleased to advise that construction works for the Civic Centre Renewal Project are expected to ramp up on site from Monday 18 May 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.
Construction will be carried out within and around the Civic Centre site. Nearby residents, businesses, and visitors may notice some changes in the area while work is underway.
What to expect
During construction, there may be some temporary impacts, including:
increased truck and construction vehicle movements around the site
changes to parking arrangements, as shown on the below map
construction noise during approved working hours
temporary changes to pedestrian access around the work area
traffic management and signage in place when required.
Parking changes
Some parking areas near the Civic Centre will change during construction to allow safe access for construction vehicles, materials and equipment.
