Bin Collection Days to Change for Selected Gympie Region Residents

Gympie Regional Council advises that bin collection days will change for selected households in Curra, Bells Bridge, and Southside, starting the week of Monday, 17 November 2025. 

The changes follow a review by J.J. Richards and Sons Pty Ltd (trading as JJ’s Waste & Recycling), which took over domestic waste collection services for the Gympie region on 1 July 2025. The review identified opportunities to improve efficiency across certain routes, streamline operations, reduce travel times, and enhance service delivery. 

A total of 1,583 households will be affected: 

• Curra and Bells Bridge: 679 addresses – waste and recycling moving from Tuesday Week 2 to Friday Week 1 

• Southside: 350 addresses – recycling moving from Thursday Week 1 to Thursday Week 2 

• Southside: 554 addresses – waste and recycling moving from Thursday Week 1 to Friday Week 2 

Only households receiving a letter from Council will be affected. Residents are encouraged to check their letterboxes for details of their new collection day.
