The Gympie Region is building its position as a prime location to live, work, and invest, with the rollout of a new digital resource to showcase the region’s potential and support ongoing investment.

The new Invest Gympie Region website will serve as the region’s ‘online shopfront’ representing the first step in a long-term program to strengthen support for existing business and attract new, complementary investment to the region.

Gympie Mayor Glen Hartwig said the region was establishing its reputation as an investment location for business and industry in Queensland.

"Our region is a prime location to do business, and we are seizing opportunities to not only support the continued growth of businesses already established in Gympie, but also attract new players to our region,” Cr Hartwig said.

“What sets our region apart is our connectivity to key domestic markets while offering great liveability and access to some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the country.

“With improved linkages both north and south thanks to the new Bruce Highway and further industrial and residential expansion coming online in the years ahead, we have a unique opportunity to leverage this access and explore further expansion for industry and business.

“it’s critical to start with telling our story – and that is the goal of Invest Gympie Region.

“This website is designed to offer a digital presence to effectively engage with industry, investors, and government, as well as providing helpful resources for local businesses and new start-ups.

“Our local business community is working hard to boost our economy, and with the recent record $42 million investment by the State Government, we know all eyes are on Gympie.

“This is one way Council is working to continue this momentum and grow our potential in a way that makes sense for our region for the future.”

The Invest Gympie Region website is a key action delivered under Council’s Gympie Region Economic Development Strategy 2025–29.

Invest Gympie Region is funded through the Locally Led Recovery Programme through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
