Please be advised that on Wednesday, 24 September 2025, council resolved to cease the fluoridation of water in its treatment plants in Gympie and Cooloola Cove - Tin Can Bay.

Council wishes to advise that, due to ongoing works as part of the Station Road and Mellor Street Intersections Upgrade Project, vehicle access to the car park beside the Gympie Family History Society will close from 6pm, Friday 10 October 2025.

Gympie Regional Council advises that the Gympie Library will temporarily close from Tuesday, 30 September at 5pm to allow essential reroofing and air conditioning replacement works to be carried out.

Cooloola Coast hailstorm impacts flying-foxes

On Display Indefinitely

The hailstorm across the Cooloola Coast yesterday has had a significant impact on local wildlife, with flying-fox populations particularly affected. Wildlife carers are reporting unusually high numbers of flying-foxes requiring assistance, especially in the Tin Can Bay and Cooloola Cove areas.
