The Department of Transport and Main Roads’ Translink Division (Translink), with the support of Gympie Regional Council, advises that new and improved bus services for the Gympie area will commence on Monday 24 November 2025.
Earlier this year, community consultation identified a need for better service frequency and reliability, improved connections to key locations, greater access to public transport and enhanced links to other regions via bus and train.
As part of these improvements, suitable bus stop locations have been identified across Gympie. The construction of permanent bus stops at key locations will begin at the start of the new year and is expected to be completed by late 2026, weather and site conditions permitting. In the meantime, interim bus stops will be in place from late November 2025.
Residents and businesses near the new bus stop locations who may experience some temporary noise during construction have been notified.
We, with Translink, appreciate the community’s understanding and co-operation during this period of improvement.
