Gympie Regional Council advises that a planned water shutdown will take place across the entire Kilkivan township on Monday 14 July 2025, from 9am until approximately 3pm.
This shutdown is necessary to allow for the replacement of three key valves and two fire hydrants along Hall Street and Church Street. Due to the location and nature of the works, the main water supply from the Kilkivan Reservoir must be temporarily isolated.
Residents are advised to:
- Store enough water in containers ahead of time for essential use
- Avoid using appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers during the outage
- Access bottled drinking water from the Kilkivan Council Branch Office if needed
- Use a bucket of water to manually flush toilets during the shutdown
Following the restoration of water supply, you may notice discoloured water. If this occurs, run an outdoor tap until the water clears.
Council appreciates your understanding while these essential maintenance works are completed.
