Twenty-nine community organisations to benefit from Council grants
Published on 23 April 2026
More than $148,000 has been allocated through the second round of the 2025/26 grants program, with the grants supporting a range of facility upgrades, creative and community development projects, and local events.
Gympie Mayor Glen Hartwig said Council had, over many years, supported local initiatives through the grants program, as they provided direct benefits to the community.
“Our region thrives because of the dedication of community groups and passionate locals who volunteer their time to deliver activities and projects that all residents can enjoy,” Cr Hartwig said.
“The grants program has consistently supported a wide range of local initiatives, with recent examples including track upgrades at Cooloola Coast Kart Club, amenities refurbishments at Gympie Queens Park Tennis Club and new function tables for Woolooga Hall.
“This round of Council’s Community Grants Program includes some fantastic initiatives, from events such as the Gold Rush Festival to support for community facilities like the Gympie Gymnastics Club. I look forward to seeing these projects come to fruition over the coming months.”
The latest round of successful grant applications was endorsed at Council’s Ordinary Meeting on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.
