Open Space and Recreation Plan

The Open Space and Recreation Plan 2016

The Open Space and Recreation Plan provides a framework for Council to identify, plan and develop spaces and recreational facilities for the region.

There are specific actions in each of the following areas:

  • policies and documents
  • facility possibilities
  • business planning and facilities management
  • facility maintenance, upgrades and renewal
  • club development, education and training
  • communication, promotion and marketing
  • programming and physical activity.

2015 – The community was invited to have their say on the plan through a survey.

2016 – The draft plan was created, based on the feedback from this survey.

2016 – The draft plan was made available for public consultation.

2016 – The final plan was endorsed by Council in December.
