From blacksmiths to textile artists - and everything in between - immerse yourself in the diversity of creativity on offer along the trail. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Julia is unable to present her works at the Gympie Regional Gallery on Saturday 19 July.

As a fibre artist, Julia combines nature's inspiration and the beauty of raw plant fibre with traditional weaving techniques to create contemporary and decorative sculptural artworks.

Julia offers weaving workshops and has a collection of works for sale in her private studio. Please contact Julia directly for enquiries.

Veteran Hall Collective | Artisan Collective: Textiles | 19 & 20 July | 10am-4pm

Veteran Hall

The Veteran Hall Collective is a diverse collaboration of local artists showcasing a wide range of crafts and skills, including a variety of textile arts, acrylic painting and pours and pottery. Artisans including textile artists, jewellers, potters, painters, art quilters, artists in miniature, will showcase their expertise at workstations where visitors will see fascinating work created and meet the makers.

Artists will be at their workstations throughout the day, giving demonstrations and answering questions, including:

  • Miniature painting using watercolour paintwork
  • Acrylic pour art
  • Painting
  • Art quilting
  • Pottery using hand building techniques

Morning and afternoon tea available for a gold coin donation), cold drinks for sale.

Jill McDonald

Fabric and fashion designer, Jill has enjoyed a successful career since 1967. Famous for introducing hand painted fabrics and innovations such as the bikini and Hawaiian muu-muus to the Sunshine Coast.

Jill continues to create unique and one-of-a-kind artworks and fashion in her studio using a variety of mediums and exploring techniques in painting, mixed media, and interior design.

Access: Follow the signs around the right-hand side of the house and up 3 steps to the studio. The studio is at the back of the house and is assessed via 3 steps with a handrail. 

Robyn Shaw | Painter | 19 & 20 July | 10am-4pm

Shaw Robyn Studio Materials

Native gardens surround Robyn’s spacious studio allowing nature to infiltrate the senses while exploring walls covered with artwork. The paintings demonstrate varied stages of completion allowing the viewer insights into her oil, acrylic and mixed media processes.

The artist’s work treads a line between figurative and abstraction as it explores movement and change in everyday interactions between figures and the local environment. Drawings and paintings reflect Robyn’s love and concern for the mangrove and wallum ecosystems and the ever-shifting foreshore.
