Get Ready for Gympie’s Biggest Ever Emergency Services Expo and Family
Published on 09 September 2025
Sirens, smiles and family fun are set to return to Nelson Reserve, Gympie, with the 2025 Emergency Services Expo and Family Fun Day happening on Saturday 11 October, 2pm– 6pm.
The afternoon will bring the community together to meet first responders, check out emergency vehicles and demonstrations, and enjoy rides, kids’ activities, entertainment and a free community BBQ.
Gympie Regional Council Mayor Glen Hartwig said this action-packed event continues to bring the community to come together to learn about the importance of being prepared while enjoying the fun activities that are on offer.
“With recent hailstorms, an unexpected earthquake, and Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred impacting our region already this year, it’s clear how unpredictable the weather can be in our region. That’s why it’s so important to ensure you and your family are prepared,” Cr. Hartwig said.
“We can all play a part in getting ready for bushfire and storm season, and this event is a fun way to learn how. There will be a lot of experts on hand to help individuals, families and businesses to best prepare, especially as summer approaches.”
“Last year’s Emergency Services Expo was huge, with so many in the community coming along to enjoy the rides, demonstrations and entertainment. This year’s event promises to be just as big, if not bigger and is once again an event the whole family won’t want to miss.
The Emergency Services Expo and Family Fun Day is aligned with Get Ready Queensland Week statewide campaign (6–12 October 2025) and will offer education and entertainment, as well as provide tips and tools to prepare the community on how to stay safe before, during and after severe weather events.
Come out and be part of the fun while getting prepared for the summer weather season.
