Community groups across the Gympie Region are set to benefit from Council’s latest round of support, with funding awarded to nineteen organisations through Council’s Community Grants Program.
A total of $121,811 was distributed across a range of categories as part of the first competitive round of the 2025/26 program, including community development, facilities, environmental and creative projects, as well as minor and major community events.
Gympie Regional Council Mayor, Glen Hartwig said the grants program continued to recognise and empower the efforts of local organisations that made a real difference in the community.
“The Gympie Region thrives because of our community groups, and the passionate and hardworking volunteers who support them,” Cr. Hartwig said.
“This funding will help turn great ideas into reality, whether it’s improving facilities, hosting events, supporting our ecosystem or local creative initiatives. Council is proud to help these groups continue the fantastic work they do for the people of the Gympie Region.”
The successful applicants were formally endorsed at Council’s Ordinary Meeting on Wednesday, 29 October 2025. Council offers two competitive funding rounds each year, along with a rolling grant round that remains open until 30 June 2026.
