This was possible with the discovery of gold in 1867. The Eisteddfod Association is proud likewise as Gympie held the first Eisteddfod in the State of Queensland.
The Eisteddfod is an annual event with the week providing a platform of performance for the youth of the community involved in cultural pursuits.
The Association’s Aim is: “to foster and nurture the love of the arts in the youth of the community”.
The art forms available to competitors are Piano, Instrumental, Speech and Drama, Vocal/Choral and Dance.
The Gympie Eisteddfod is a junior Eisteddfod offering items in each of the art forms.
