McIntosh Creek Road Widening Works

On Display Indefinitely

Council is pleased to advise that road works along McIntosh Creek Road, between Valley View Court and Lawson Road, are expected to start from 3 August 2026 and be completed by early 2027, weather and site conditions permitting.

These works are an important investment in the region’s road network and will improve road safety, traffic flow and the overall condition of the road.

Works will include:

  • clearing vegetation and carrying out earthworks
  • relocating electrical and telecommunications services
  • upgrading stormwater drainage
  • widening the road pavement and curves, and applying a new pavement overlay
  • sealing the road surface
  • reinstating property access where affected by the works
  • installing road signs and line marking.

What to expect
While construction is underway, residents and road users may experience:

  • construction vehicles and machinery in the area
  • temporary lane closures and changed traffic conditions
  • reduced speed limits
  • construction noise during approved working hours
  • temporary changes to property access, pedestrian routes or parking
  • traffic controllers, signage and detours where required.

Council will work to minimise disruption and maintain safe access for residents, businesses and emergency services.

Please follow all signage and directions from traffic controllers and allow extra travel time when travelling through the area.

Traffic and access changes
To facilitate the works, temporary traffic management measures will be required at various stages of construction. These may include lane closures, altered traffic conditions and temporary restrictions on parking in the immediate work area.

Motorists, pedestrians and cyclists are encouraged to follow all signage and directions from traffic controllers and allow extra travel time when travelling through the area.

Tree removal and replanting
As part of the road improvement works, the removal of some trees within the project area will be required to accommodate construction activities and meet road safety and design requirements.
Council will minimise vegetation impacts where practicable and undertake suitable replacement planting following completion of the works.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while these important road improvement works are carried out.
