Round One of Gympie Regional Council’s 2025–26 Competitive Community Grants Program is now open.

As part of Council’s 2025/26 budget, over $500,000 has been allocated to the community grants and Regional Arts Development Fund grants across two competitive rounds and one rolling round, providing vital financial support to community groups and artists, to deliver projects that enrich the social, environmental, economic, and cultural wellbeing of the Gympie region.

Gympie Regional Council Mayor Glen Hartwig said Council’s grants program plays an important role in supporting local community groups, which are the lifeblood of the region. "Council’s grants program provides community groups with support to help turn their ideas into reality,” Cr. Hartwig said.

“In recent years, we’ve seen some great outcomes as a direct result of the grants program, like the Glastonbury Carnivale, which brings the whole community together, Christmas in the Park, a wonderful event for families to celebrate the festive season, and assistance to purchase a new car for Gympie Medical Transport Inc., helping more locals get to important medical appointments.

“These projects make a real difference not just for the groups applying for them, but for the wider community, and I’m excited to see what projects will be delivered during this round of the program."
