Returning for its ninth year this July, Gympie Region Studio Trails’ is inviting locals and visitors to explore their creative side, as artists across the region open their studio doors for a month of creative inspiration and possibilities.

The annual event aims to showcase a diverse mix of emerging and established artists, offering a rare behind-the-scenes look into their creative processes.

Guests will have the opportunity to view original artworks, participate in hands-on workshops, and experience live demonstrations in the very spaces where the art comes to life.

Each weekend in July will feature a different trail to explore, guiding visitors through the Gympie Region and offering unique experiences every time.

Mayor Glen Hartwig said Studio Trails was an annual initiative that Council was proud to deliver to showcase the region’s talented artists.

"I’m so pleased to see Studio Trails return this year for its ninth anniversary. This month-long initiative is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the talented artists and aritisans we have in the Gympie Region and the work they in do in our community,” Mayor Hartwig said.

“It’s the perfect excuse to explore our beautiful region - plan a road trip, visit a local café or restaurant for a bite to eat and discover the best of the Gympie Region.”

The first weekend is scheduled to kick off with an opening night held at the Gympie Regional Galley on the 28 June from 4pm-6pm.

Gympie Region Studio Trails 2025 is initiative of Gympie Regional Council supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund. The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Gympie Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland. 

This project was also made possible by the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, provided through Regional Arts Australia, administered in Queensland by Flying Arts Alliance.
