Tagigan Road Widening

On Display Indefinitely

Council wishes to advise of extension works being undertaken on the 2.3km stretch of Tagigan Road, Goomboorian, between Tin Can Bay Road and Nall Road.

These works aim to improve safety, accommodate growing traffic volumes and reduce long term maintenance costs. Tagigan Road sees nearly 500 vehicles daily, and this in conjunction with weather conditions has caused extreme wear and tear on the road.

These works will commence in September 2025 with a view to be completed mid-2026, weather permitting.

Works are being constructed in accordance with Gympie Regional Council Operational Works Approval. Residents along Tagigan Road will still be able to access their properties. In the event of altered access, residents will be notified.

Appropriate and approved traffic management will be in place for the duration of the respective works for public safety and to minimise any unnecessary disruption.

These upgrades are made possible through Australian Government funding of $2.3 million from the Roads to Recovery (RTR) Program, which supports the construction and maintenance of the local road infrastructure assets, facilitating greater accessibility and improved safety, economic and social outcomes for Australians.
