The Timber Bridge Replacement Project

On Display Indefinitely

Council wishes to advise of bridge replacement works taking place in the Gympie region.

The following timber bridges have reached end of life and these replacement works aim to ultimately reduce ongoing maintenance needs and increase flood resilience.

  • Harrys Creek Road Bridge, Amamoor
  • Howe Road Bridge, Traveston
  • Inglewood Road Bridge, Monkland

These works will commence in July 2025 with a view to be completed end of 2025, weather permitting. Works on the Smith Road Bridge in Woolooga also started late last year and will be completed in mid-July 2025, weather permitting.

Works are being constructed in accordance with Gympie Regional Council Operational Works Approval. Properties impacted by the works will be notified in advance.

Appropriate and approved traffic management will be in place for the duration of the respective works for public safety and to minimise any unnecessary disruption.

These upgrades are made possible by a $7.3 million investment from a number of funding sources including the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DFRA), the Australian Government Black Summer Bushfire Recovery (BSBR) grant program, the Australian Government Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program (SLRIP) and Gympie Regional Council.
