Audit and Risk Management Committee

Council’s Audit and Risk Committee provides supervision and advice to Council and the Chief Executive Officer about:

  • Internal audit plan and progress reports
  • External audit plan and progress reports
  • Governance matters, including risk management
  • Legislative and policy compliance.

  • Two elected representatives (councillors) and three independent members.

  • One of the independent members.

  • Council appoints the committee members and Chairperson.

  • The public are invited to respond to the calling of Expressions of Interest to fill the position if it is vacant.

  • They meet four times per year in accordance with the Charter.

  • Representatives from the Queensland Audit Office, council’s external auditors and internal auditor, and nominated employees may attend meetings.
