Volunteer at Gympie Regional Libraries

Gympie Regional Libraries acknowledge and value the significant contribution that volunteers make to the community and to the library service in particular.

Volunteers provide their valuable time to:

  • Home Library Service

  • Local History

  • Makerspace

  • Library Program and Event

Home Library Service

Do you want to help people access library materials while they stay in their own home?
Do you have a couple of spare hours per fortnight to help?

For over 50 years our amazing volunteers have supported library members who are unable to attend the library due to age, frailty or disability. Gympie Library needs volunteers to select library materials to library members on the home library service.

Local History

Gympie Regional Libraries maintain and develop an extensive collection of books, registers, photos, maps, pamphlets, and paraphernalia on the history of the Gympie Region.
Programs and research are carried out to improve public access to the collection as well as providing answers to online, phone and in-library queries.

Gympie Regional Libraries develop and offer innovative programs and events for residents and visitors to the Gympie Region. Programs offered in the Makerspace include robotics, coding, 3D printing, virtual reality and craft and sewing sessions.

Library Programs and Events

Located in Goomeri, Gympie, Imbil, Kilkivan, Rainbow Beach and Tin Can Bay, our libraries host a wide variety of free events, activities and programs for all ages and abilities throughout the year.  These include author talks, gardening and sustainability workshops, music and poetry events, storytelling for children and school holiday programs.
