Temporary Local Planning Instrument 1 - Southside Local Development Area

On 24 January 2018, Gympie Regional Council adopted Temporary Local Planning Instrument 1 – Southside Local Development Area (TLPI), with an earlier commencement and effective date of 11 October 2017.

The TLPI will have effect until 11 October 2019 (unless repealed at an earlier date). The TLPI facilitates the protection of environmental values in the Southside Structure Plan Area by regulating vegetation clearing, until the endorsed Southside Local Development Area Structure Plan has been appropriately integrated into the Gympie Regional Council Planning Scheme 2013 v2.0. Dependent on the location and nature of any vegetation proposed to be cleared, an application may now be required to be submitted to Council.

The TLPI includes two new precinct areas, the Southside Environment and Conservation Precinct and the Southside Steep Slopes equal to or greater than 15% Precinct.

These maps can be found in Appendix A and Appendix B in the TLPI, or alternatively can be accessed via Council's interactive online maps.
