Seniors make a huge contribution through employment, volunteering, grand-parenting, and guiding our future. We invite you to join us to celebrate Seniors Month in October.
Seniors Month is a chance to celebrate the important role older people play in our community. This year, Seniors Month celebrates social connections. It is about connecting people of all ages, cultures and abilities. Read all about how you can become involved at https://www.qld.gov.au/seniors.
Are you keen to host an activity or event? Get in contact with council’s Community Partnerships team and let’s see what we can dream up together! Phone 1300 307 800 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Each year council honours a male and female resident aged 60 years or over with a Senior Citizen of the Year Award.
We award this to people who have made a valuable contribution to our community. We announce the winners at an event in October hosted by council. Nominations for 2021 opened in August 2021.
Congratulations to Bevan Day and Kim Boyter, who won the 2020 Senior Citizen of the Year Award.
