1080 Baiting Program March 2020
Gympie Regional Council’s biannual coordinated 1080 Baiting Program will again be conducted throughout the region in March and again in September 2020. The first round will commence on Tuesday 17 March and all interested rural landholders are asked to contact Council by the 6 March to check your eligibility and register for participation.
Please use the ‘Baiting Station Schedule’ to determine bait preparation locations/stations and associated dates (below) and come to your registered station on the chosen date with your fresh meat baits (wild dog and fox 250g, feral pig 500g) ready for preparation.
1080 baiting is targeted to rural lands control of wild dogs, feral pigs and foxes, which can cause impacts to both primary production and natural systems alike. Broad scale collaborative baiting on a regular basis assists with effective control outcomes. Landholders who wish to participate in the program must be eligible, register with Council, undertake notifications to neighbouring properties and comply with a series of use conditions. All participants (new or existing) are asked to contact Council to register for each and every program.
