Property maintenance

It is the responsibility of the property owners in urban and rural residential areas to maintain their property to an acceptable standard, free of all long grass and other exotic vegetation.

Overgrown allotments can harbour vermin and may present a fire risk.

It is accepted that residents mow and edge the grass on the nature strip beside their property, and a permit is not required to do so.

Council is very appreciative of residents and community members who carry out maintenance of these areas. It also enables Council’s resources to be allocated to front line services.

You can report an overgrown allotment by submitting a customer request.
