Project background

Gunalda

Project works delivered the detailed design and construction of capital streetscape improvements in the Gunalda Township (Stage 1 Implementation in 2015/16). 

The works included streetscaping, upgrading of footpaths and formalisation of car and truck parking in the vicinity of the Hotel and General Store on Balkin Street.

The capital improvements aim to secure the economic future of Gunalda by creating of a desirable stop off for visitors travelling on the Bruce Highway and reinforcing Gunalda's role as an attractive hub for the surrounding areas local residents.

The Queensland Government contributed $245,008 towards the project cost of $612,520 under its 2015-16 Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program. The project was completed on time and budget on 7 October 2016. 

Amamoor

Project works delivered the design and construction of streetscape capital improvements around the General Store, Rattler Precinct and surrounds.  

The capital improvements aim to secure the economic future of Amamoor by creating of a desirable place for more passing tourists to stop and visit and reinforcing its role as an attractive hub for the surrounding areas local residents.

The Queensland Government contributed $80,475 towards the project cost of $201,189 which was completed on 8 September 2016.
