Rates deferral for impacted primary producers - 13 March 2014
Gympie Regional Council has offered to extend the current rates payment period for registered primary producers to 30 June 2014.
Applications for the extension of time must be in writing and will be reviewed on a case by case basis by the CEO.
Cr Tony Perrett said, "As a consequence of the council's efforts in seeking a whole of region State Government drought declaration and its support of a drought relief assistance scheme, this offer acknowledges that our primary producers are doing it tough at the moment."
There is no doubt the current weather conditions will have long term financial impact on our producers", he said.
Primary producers are encouraged to submit their application fora rates payment extension by close of business, Thursday 20 March 2014.
