Please outline the work being carried out in the Cogan Street/Station Road intersection:
As a nominated black spot area and funded by the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program, Council will be installing a single lane roundabout in the Cogan Street/Station Road intersection. The work includes removing the current intersection, installation of the single lane roundabout (including resurfacing, storm water drainage, lighting footpaths etc.).
Why has this spot been nominated as a Black Spot area?
This intersection has seen multiple accidents and was nominated by Council as a Black Spot intersection to increase safety.
What is the cost of this project:
The total funding and cost of the project is $750,000. The project has been fully funding by the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program.
Will there be traffic delays:
Yes. The intersection will be closed as from Tuesday February 13 for the duration of the work, which should be complete in May. Residents in the area are being notified and detours will be in place via Crescent and Tozer Park Roads.
