Support for Recovery and Resilience

Resilience is defined as the ability to recover from setbacks, adapt well to change, and keep going in the face of adversity. Becoming more resilient can offer individuals and the community the opportunity to improve recovery outcomes after disaster.

  • Purpose: To support communities in choosing their response to the loss, anxiety and distress they have experienced as a result of severe weather and flooding events.

     

    100% of funding for this grant category is provided by Central Qld, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast Primary Health Network through funding by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care.

     

    Amount: Maximum grant amount $40,000

    No co-contribution from the applicant is required.

     

    Priorities:

    • Promote wellbeing and healing among community;
    • Strengthen social connectedness and assist communities with the recovery process;
    • Engage population groups less likely to seek out traditional mental health services;
    • Raise awareness of, and access to, available recovery services.

     

    Funding Round: open for applications 5 September 2022, closes 31 May 2023 or when all funds allocated are expended.

     

    Outcome advised by: Four weeks from application date

     

    Project delivery timeframe: 12 months from submission of Funding Agreement.

  • Purpose: To support communities impacted by the effects of COVID-19 and natural disaster to deliver activities and events that enable social connectedness and recovery.

     

    100% of funding for this grant category is provided by Central Qld, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast Primary Health Network through funding by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care, as well as the Queensland Government, Mental Health and Wellbeing Community Package under Queensland's Economic Recovery Strategy.

     

    Amount: Maximum grant amount $1,500

    No applicant co-contribution required.

     

    Priorities:

    1. Increase community connection, sense of belonging and community wellbeing through the delivery of a range of small-scale community events and activities;
    2. Activate public and community spaces (e.g. halls, parks, community facilities);
    3. Provide free or low cost events and activities for the community to participate in;
    4. Support local musicians and entertainers;
    5. Where practical, stimulate the local economy through use of local contractors and/or suppliers.

     

    Funding Round: open for applications 5 September 2022, closes 31 May 2023 or when all funds allocated are expended.

     

    Outcome advised by: Four weeks from application date.

     

    Project delivery timeframe: Events and activities funded by the 2022/2023 Get Local Community Grants program must occur prior to 30 June 2023 or as specified in the Funding Agreement.
